No Worries!
Helping you find happiness and boosting your mental health through Human Givens Therapy
Is life crushing your confidence and holding you back?
I can help!
Hi, I'm Richard and I use the Human Givens approach to therapy to help people identify and meet their emotional needs for a happy and healthy life!
I don’t know what challenges you are facing right now or what has brought you here, but one thing I do know is that I can help you break free from your anxiety, help you find solutions to things that are bothering you, and point the way to a more contented life. Human Givens therapy can make a big change - and fast!
I can give you the tools, knowledge, and materials to support you with whatever difficulty you are facing.
You may feel uncertain. I know asking for help can be an daunting prospect, but once you do, the rest of the process can begin, and soon you'll start to feel so much better...so much more relaxed. You'll wonder why you didn't do something sooner!
Many people come to me after trying other therapies without success. Maybe you’re not even sure if there is anyone out there who can help you. I want to make sure you know that there are always things we can do together to help you feel better, regardless of the situation.
The therapy model I use is solution-focused, which means that we absolutely don't have to go over the past and run the risk of opening old wounds. Instead, we work together to find and develop strategies to help you in the present moment and into the future. Onwards and upwards!
Why worry, wouldn't you like to stop?
These days, it might feel as if there's a lot to worry about: financial troubles, the past, relationships, the environment, the feeling of being powerless in a world that seems increasingly hard to understand.
As an individual trying to make your way through life, it's all too easy to ruminate and worry about all kinds of things - large and small, real or perceived - that our brains try to deal with and make sense of on a daily basis.
In the normal run of things, our dreams serve to discharge and neutralise the emotional arousals we encounter in our waking lives, but if we start to become swamped by worry and anxious thoughts, our dreaming sleep will go into overdrive. This gives our brain little or no time for the repair and restorative parts of sleep, and we wake up feeling completely worn out - as if we hadn't slept at all!
For many people, this is how depression can take hold - the constant vicious cycle of worry, sleep disturbance and excessive dreaming, and so feeling terrible all day - possibly leading down a deeper, darker spiral to who-knows-where.
If you can relate to any of the above, I'm bringing a message of hope: there are ways to nip worry in the bud, to stop anxiety in its tracks. Sometimes, just saying things out loud will be all it takes to break the cycle. Sometimes it will need a bit of an "audit", to see if you are getting the correct emotional nourishment for your mental well-being. Perhaps your subconscious mind will need a shove to point you back in the right direction.
Even if it feels as if nothing can be done, sometimes just the act of leaving the house and coming to talk about yourself out loud is the start of something very powerful.
